Personal Choice
With well over 400 hotels to choose from in Dubai it is hard to make recommendations and besides, often a choice of hotel is a case of personal preference, each of us having our own views as to what are the best qualities of a hotel. What I have done here is suggest five from among the best hotels in Dubai. Each one an excellent hotel but each one displaying different features. Together though, they show the wide variety in choice that is offered by this popular tourist destination.
1. Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, Dubai

Situated on a beautiful beach overlooking the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf this 500 room hotel is ideal for business or pleasure. It hosts 14 international restaurants and bars, providing ample choices of cuisine. The hotel’s Roman themed Spa also features a state of the art gymnasium and aerobic center. As well as the beach offering water sports, there are also 3 temperature controlled swimming pools, squash and tennis facilities. A kiddies club with organized activities ensures relaxation for all the family.
2. Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort, Dubai

Situated in the heart of the Dubai Marina, it is on the Jumeirah beach golden mile. Called “the walk” and situated just yards from the resort is an outside shopping avenue. The resort has a spa, 12 restaurants including an award winning Italian restaurant and a lively South American Steakhouse. Ideally located close to Wild Wadi Water Park and Ski Dubai, it is also only a 10 minute walk from the city metro.
3. One & Only, the Palm Dubai

The resorts unique location allows it to be surrounded by lush gardens, fountains and sparkling pools. Situated on Dubai’s most ambitious development, it allows for that exclusive island feel or if you prefer, the resorts private water taxi can take you to many of Dubai’s attractions.
4. Raffles, Dubai

This hotel built as an architectural pyramid, is not only situated near some of Dubai’s best known landmarks, it is one. The hotel hosts several top quality restaurants including the Azur, overlooking the Botanical gardens. It features all the amenities of pools and spa and also boasts the famous Raffles afternoon teas.
5. Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, Dubai

The hotel is situated on the west crescent of the Palm Jumeirah and supports magnificent views of both the Arabian Gulf and Dubai’s unique skyline. The hotel’s style is based on that of the Ottoman Empire and features one of the biggest and most opulent spas in the world, spread over 2 floors with separate areas for men and women.
The Burj Al Arab is, of course, the most famous and probably the most expensive of hotels in Dubai and so I purposely left it off this list for both those reasons. It along with the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, are icons of architecture and each serves as its own individual tourist attraction, separate from the rest of Dubai.
