The Maldives are a gorgeous set of island in the Indian Ocean, and are a top place for many who want to come here for their holidays and honeymoon. Got some time off work coming up and don’t know where to go? Here’ a bit of a briefing on the incredible Maldives.
Climate
Hot and beautiful are probably the only two things that immediately come to mind about the Maldives, but like anywhere else in the world, paradise can get bad weather too. The monsoon season is an unfortunate time to come as you won’t be able to enjoy the beaches as much. This is usually from May to November. The winds are strong and the thunderstorms roll in. However, the prices are cheaper during this time. The weather isn’t bad 24/7, so you could take your chances. If you want hot and sunny weather, almost guaranteed, then coming December through March is your best bet. Forget a white Christmas! How about a sandy one instead?
Transport
You will get here by plane, of course, but if you plan on island hopping, you can fly too! Seaplanes are a unique way of getting around, and the Maldives is a great spot to take advantage of that opportunity. Male is pretty small and totally walkable if you got your walking shoes on. There are cabs as well if you’re just not in the mood to walk around. Otherwise while you’re here, walking to and from the beach will be your only concern.
Top Things to Do:
Chill
Seriously, just chill. This is an archipelago of serene and quiet beaches for miles and miles scattered on a bunch of tiny specs of paradise. What else can you imagine doing but laying around and basking under the sun? Melt away everything else and focus on nothing. This is the place to relax.
Spa
Speaking of chillin out, if the beach vibes aren’t doing the trick for you, have a spa day! It’s your Maldives holidays after all. Take the time to pamper yourself with any kind of massage or spa experience you can think of. The island offer many types. The hakeembe are healing experts on the island and are trained to give you the islands special spa treatments.
