I compiled this list with only one question in mind, “Where would I travel to in Asia, if money and time were not limitations on me in any way?”, therefore this is more than a travel blog. This is a bucket list, this is a plan. Hence, without any further ado, let’s begin unpacking the places that you should travel to in Asia in 2018.

Thailand

Thailand is a great all-rounder, not only is it budget friendly to everyone from students to couples who are recovering from wedding festivities but it is also layered in culture and history. This is a must for anyone who has never been to Asia or who is simply in love with Thai food, which is understandable.

Cambodia

Cambodia is a haven for history fans, with Siem Reap being one of the best preserved historical ruins throughout Asia. Otherwise check out the palace at Phnom Penh or head off to one of the islands off of Cambodia such as Koh Rong where the beaches have endless white sand and the water is translucent.

India

Picking just one spot to go in India is hard; it is possibly one of the most diverse holiday destinations in the world. If you are tired of the Taj Mahal, then why not head out to the Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur, the movie theatre was established in 1976 and showcases many Bollywood pieces. Otherwise head on over to the Ranakpur Jain Temple in Ranakpur, the town has not yet been fully overrun by urbanization, so it has fewer tourists than most areas. Indonesia

Indonesia truly has something for everyone, how can it not there are more than 18 300 islands for you to explore to your heart’s content. If you would like to be active, then why not catch the waves at Kuta beach in Bali, else you can attempt to befriend a komodo dragon. However, if animals are not your thing, then you can always go and explore the endless temples, museums and historical ruins on the islands.

Myanmar

Once you are in Myanmar you may never want to leave, during your stay be sure to check out the Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangdon, or head out onto Inle Lake where people live in houses currently standing on stilts. On the other hand you can frolic in the Myeik Archipelago, or you can check out some of the many historic temples in the country.
