5 Cool World’s Greatest Dream Trips

When we look through travel guides and pamphlets with the top travel destinations or the top vacation spots, we are normally limited by our budgets but what if we weren’t? Where would we choose?

A survey carried out by some of the leaders in the travel industry, with them polling more than 1,000 people came up with one or two surprizes, one being that though the Pacific Islands were featured, they didn’t make the top spot, plus only one cruise made it to the top 5. Here are the results of that survey, showing the top 5 world’s greatest dream trips, is yours one of dream vacation among them?

5. Italy

A luxury villa on the Amalfi coast can cost as much as much as $30,000 per week and offers some spectacular views. It is still a little surprizing though that 17% of those surveyed choose this, perhaps romantic location over a more exotic one for their choice of a dream get away.

4. Tahiti

This island is just one of the 118 islands that make up French Polynesia and is probably no surprize to anyone that it made this list, nor that Fiji, another Pacific Island destination, also made the top 10. One night in one of the luxurious resorts on Tahiti can cost $850 per night, surely making it only a dream for many vacationers.

3. A Cruise Around the World

If a cruise was going to make this list, it would have to be this one. This really would be a dream come true with a three month cruise stopping at 78 different destinations divided between all six continents. Although the cost of $60,000 per person, per cruise, may not sound surprizing, perhaps the fact that only 20% of the people chose it is.

2. Bora Bora

Again there is not any real surprize that 26% of those surveyed chose this as Bora Bora had only just recently won the award by the US News and World Report, for being the best Island in the World. This island with its crystal clear waters and tropical climate, really is a dream get away resort but it will also remain just a dream to most vacationers as, one of the more luxurious accommodations on this island can cost as much as $5,000 and that is the per night price.

1. Australia

Perhaps surprisingly, Australia was the dream choice of 47% of those surveyed and at $4,600 for just a flight from New York to Sydney; it will remain only a dream for many vacationers. Not that Australia doesn’t have lots to offer with its sail like Opera House in Sydney, the Great Barrie Reef and of course the famous Ayers Rock and that the results will put smiles on a lot of faces of those “down under” but it probably came as somewhat of a surprize to those top travel executives that sponsored the survey.

If your dream vacation wasn’t here perhaps it still made the top 10 list. Making up the other 5 destinations in the top 10 were: 6. European River Cruise. 7. South Africa. 8. United Arab Emirates. 9. Mediterranean Cruise. 10. Fiji.
